It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

I couldn't wear purple, since I have a school uniform and don't own purple accessories (for some odd reason), but my room is purple? I hope that counts for something. <333 RIP.

If your spirit is with them, that's what counts most. ♥ *hugs* I was lucky and happened to find a purple shirt hidden in my closet for the day and Breyzy has a purple dress-shift for work, and our mom was even able to wear a purple ribbon for the day (normally they don't let her do that since their scrubs are color-coordinated/must-be-uniform)...and I hope that there were quite a few other people who were either able to wear purple or who were supportive of Spirit Day in other ways too! *hugs even more*
